Rebels and Redcoats Gold immerses players in the battlefields of the American Revolutionary War. The conflict erupted in 1775 when the American colonies revolted against the British Empire, culminating in the declaration of independence in 1776. Over the ensuing years, Britain endeavored to quash the rebellion and regain control of the American territories. The rebel forces, however, garnered support from European allies, with France and Spain eventually joining the war on their side. The turning point came with a significant American triumph at Yorktown in 1781, ultimately shattering British resolve and prompting peace negotiations. The war drew to a close in 1783 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris and the worldwide acknowledgment of United States sovereignty.
